welcome

This site is designed to be a reflective journal of our walk, from a leadership perspective, here at Bethel City Church. One thing that surpised me as we began this journey was the incredible privilege that leadership is, and in all the success and the mistakes, a record must be taken so as to serve others as we learn together.

latest developments:

'Burbs Family

Sunday 28th June see's BCC launch its 2nd congregation. 'Burbs Family is situated in the southern suburbs of Stoke on Trent.  'Burbs Family is specififcally designed with 21st century suburban family life in mind.

 'Something More!'

The 'live' recording of BCC's first album was a huge success. On June 7th at BCC's City Gathering the whole church gathered for an incredible time as the band were blow away awesome and the atmosphere was electiric with the anthem on praise. 'Something More!' will be on sale Autumn '09

2 new campuses??

You may have heard on BBC Radio Stoke is in conversation with the City Council for the release of 2 premises in Abbey Hulton. The first is a Community Facility & the second  Residential Facility. Expansion is happening fast!

5 Campuses by September '09

This is the reality of the zany world of BCC. It is looking that there is a strong possibility that BCC will be resident on 5 campuses by September  '09. ST1 - City Youth; ST2 - Main Campus & offices; ST3 - The Treehouse; ST4 - Family Congregation, Trentham; and yet to find its new home- 'When...' [possibly Tunstall ST6]

400

BCC broke the 400 barrier for the first time at  a  City Gathering. We believe this to be a significant step in our adventure together. We have been accelerating in our growth as Becky and I saw a mere 62 people on our first Sunday. God is obviously all over BCC and the moementum is increasing.

BCC's first congegational plant

We are most excited about pioneering our first congregational plant in the Trentham area of the city. Plans are fast under way with our launch date set for the 26th June 2009 at Ash Green Primary School, Trentham.

Something More?

BCC's debut album entitled 'Something More' is set for a 'live' recording in May '09. This exciting project is designed to stimulate and promote the creative spirit that Stoke on Trent was once famous for. 'Something More' is also a bold and audacious statement that the lament has been removed and the shout of the King is amongst the people of God in this awesome city!

City Church Network has been established.

Sean Smith (Hope Community Church) and I have established a phenomenal relationship as we build church in this great City. Others have joined with us and we have formed the City Church Network. In all honesty, its a fancy name for a group of leaders and churches who are doing life together, championing one another and, eating lots of curry! Plans for Incentive Days, Prayer & Fasting schedules, Corporate City Endeavours, Conferences and Network Meals are being considered.

40 days & 40 nights.

Bethel City Church has started it's first corporate fast. The response has been overwhelming and answers to prayer are already occuring. We know that ceilings of previous generations are being smashed through as we follow Jesus into a new season here in Stoke on Trent.

An audacious campaign ruffles feathers

www.jesus4major.com is receiving unpresidented visits and support as it challenges state and church in the city of Stoke on Trent to put Jesus first and follow His manifesto.

Certain to Awesome - a story of repurposing local church

Our first BCC book is almost complete as we put into words the phenomenal journey or repurposing experienced in the last 12 months. The books covers many aspects of the year including personal testimony from the great people of BCC.

Vision 20/20 pt1

Preparations are well under way for Vision Sunday 2009 (11th Jan 10.30) as we get ready some wreckless and revolutionary projects that will shake the city to it's core!
